Lucas the fish

Sammy was begging and begging for a pet.  For months, he showed us how responsible he could be -- always quick to pick things up and doing chores before being asked.  Mike got him a fish, which he named Lucas.  (It was going to be named Goldeen, but somehow the name changed on the way home.)  Sammy was excited and bubbly about the whole thing.  Lucas the fish lasted five days at our house, poor fish.  Sammy's going to be pretty sad about it.  Fare thee well, fish.

Teacher gifts

Also done...teacher gifts. I made two of the banners pictured here, two sets of the ornaments pictured, and another two sets of the nativity ornaments that I usually make this time of year. I've been very, very tired lately. Sammy also decided that his star student week had to be this week, since his half birthday is the day after Christmas. I'm glad the sewing portion of the holidays is over for now.

Cookies...done!

The Redcoats

Sammy's obsession with the Revolutionary War has now become an obsession with England.  He did a whole PowerPoint presentation on it and is demanding that we exchange some of his money for English pounds.  He also wants a red coat that looks like the one from the British soldier in the Revolutionary War that he can wear in the winter.

(He loved using PowerPoint so much that he's now making another report about Israel.)

Henry went with the more traditional patriotic colors. (Reminiscent of France's flag, but that's not what he intended.)
