New Year's Eve

We got into Knoxville & walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner. While waiting for a table, Henry & I walked to Big Lots to see if we could get some fancy hats & fizzy drinks to celebrate the New Year. No luck. They had closed maybe a half hour before we reached their door. We ended up improvising. Brooke used the towels from the bathroom to make some hats and I found one copy of the local paper still in the newspaper machine to make some more. Our fizzy drinks were courtesy of the vending machine. Sprite's a good drink to toast the new year, right?

In the picture, the guys are looking on their PDAs to see if they can find an actual 2012 countdown from an earlier time zone. (Yes, we rang in the new year at 10pm along with such places as Greenland and Brazil. But we used the London countdown to do it.)

I stayed up until midnight, waking Henry to take him downstairs and see the ball drop in Times Square. (Weird...my fingers typed "Times Quest". I think I've been thinking about MagiQuest too much lately...)
